Disabled Britons are still being trapped inside care homes for weeks as a result of ‘inappropriate’ and outdated Covid rules put in place at the start of the pandemic, campaigners warn. Experts say the strict isolation rules are not necessary for the majority of disabled people who are not vulnerable to the virus – and The Mail on Sunday has learned of a number of residents, some in their 20s and 30s, who have developed serious health problems as a result of the continued isolation.
