Please Contact your MP – help get Gloria’s Law over the line!
Don’t be complacent. In any future crisis visits could stop again – and we’d be back to window visits, skype calls and glass screens! Many of us remain traumatised and deeply scarred by that experience.
It’s too late for my beloved mum Jean, who spent the last year and a half of her life forcibly separated from her daughters, but it’s not too late to protect others we hold dear and of course ourselves.
With winter approaching, reports of a new strain of Covid and more outbreaks on the way, it’s more important than ever that we get Gloria’s Law. This would give all of us a legal right, to in person support from a close family member in any situation, whether in hospital or a care home.
What must we do to get Gloria’s Law over the line?
Write to your MP using our template email, which asks MPs to sign a cross-party letter that will be sent to the Prime Minister, urging him to put Dan Carden’s Care Supporter’s Bill (Gloria’s Law) into the King’s Speech. MPs will be back next week.
We need them to sign up before 14th September, so we need to act very quickly.
